Glasgow Airport is Scotland’s principal long haul air port. operating year round flights to Canada, the USA and the Midle East. 9 million passengers every year use the air port making it Scotland’s busiest. Glasgow Airport is home to about 30 airlines covering more than 80 destinations worldwide. A £30 million expansion project – known as skyhub – aims to reduce security waiting times, increase capacity in the terminal and offer passengers a wider choice of shops, bars and restaurants is already underway, this is the biggest single investment by airport operator BAA Glasgow for a generation. The airport is owned and operated by BAA, the world’s leading airport company (BAA also owns Aberdeen, Edinburgh, London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted and Southampton).

Getting to and from Glasgow air port

  • By car - The M8 Motorway via Junction 28 gives easy access to and from the airport. The airport is about two minutes from Paisley. Provision has been made to allow disabled passengers with designated blue badge spaces on the ground floor of Car Park 2, which is directly opposite the Terminal. There is also a dropping off point on St Andrews Drive just a few minutes away from the terminal plus the usual short and long term car parks. In addition ther are a number of companies offering executive valet parking services.
  • By Train - The Gilmour Street railway station in Paisley is just one mile from the main terminal building, it can be reached by taxi or by using the regular bus services just outside the terminal building. if you purchase a trainticket simply ask for a rail ticket to Glasgow Airport, this will then cover the costs for the airport bus transfer service also getting you right to the terminal.
  • By bus - There are tons of buses from Glasgow city centre - every seven minutes at peak times - operated by Arriva’s Glasgow Flyer (service 500).
    Single fare costs to the city centre are £3.95 single and £5.95 return. Journey time is approx 25 minutes. Just look for bus stops that have the airportlink logo on them. For bus timetables check out http://www.glasgowflyer.com/
